  1. The Red Hot Chili Peppers released an official soundboard from 2004 two days ago. In a recent message on Facebook was stated, that there will be more old stuff. Check this thread to be up to date to the newest releases with our beloved J. Frusciante in the RHCP line-up! http://www.livechilipeppers.com/live-music/0,12265/Red-Hot-Chili-Peppers-mp3-flac-download-6-23-2004-Millennium-Stadium-Cardiff-Wales.html
  2. After a quick search on the forums here I noticed that while Hazel's influence on JF has been discussed it's never been discussed at length. In many instances in listening to Frusciante do I hear influence from Hazel. Hazel himself was in both the band Parliament and Funkadelic. Both of which I encourage anyone to look up as they had a profound influence on not only John but RHCP too.Should you want to listen to specific songs by Hazel I personally recommend his cover of California Dreamin' though the one I find that reminds me most of Frusciante is Maggot Brain which in my opinion reminds me largely of Frusciante's Before The Beginning. Tonally I think they're fairly similar in that they both use extensive wah in there soloing, while Hazel used a lot more delay than Frusciante ever has. They both liked strats and I feel approached guitar playing in a similar manner. What does everyone else think?
  3. As far as I know no one has ever tabbed this astounding jam. Would anyone be interested in it if I tabbed it? I'm 2/3 of the way done with it (not counting the minute of crazy feedback). Aside from that what does everyone think of this jam?
  4. So, a few years ago (probably 6 years or something like that) I found this youtube video called "Chicago morning train to the sounds of John Frusciante", there was this whole discussion and comments on youtube about whether it was him or not playing the song, the video only showed some scenes recorded on the train and there was this awesome music playing along, no scenes of him playing whatsoever, I gotta say it sounded a lot like him though ... now, the problem is that yesterday I tried to find it again and noticed they deleted it. Did anyone have the chance to hear it? record it? Any ideas about the real composer? Was it actually John playing some unknown/unreleased song? All I could find while googling is this website where they posted the video, back in February 2000.... http://redhotchilepeppers.blogspot.mx/2000/02/sounds-of-john-frusciante.html Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  5. Thank you. I remember the article stating he drove an S-10 pickup, and would toss his guitars (without cases) in the back of the truck on the way to recording sessions.
  6. Hello!I wanted to share my cover of "Going Inside" with you, and maybe we could share our covers here, on this topics!I did "Going Inside" several month ago, I don't play this song anymore, actually I really like to play some Niandra Lades songs.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQOBeSc45f8
  7. I love how Frusciante sings and I would like to learn some exercises to clear my voice and reach high notes. can anyone help me? Please :D/>
  8. Hi guys! Do you know which amps does John use in studio to record the Chili Peppers albums?
  9. Please help me find it, i canĀ“t find it anywhere! Thanks!
  10. I want to know who's the photographer of this picture. Has anyone a idea who it could be? Please let me know! I really need this picture in greater format.
  11. Hello all, For those super-keen on John`s guitar gear and pedals (and who isn`t!) - I am selling my Ibanez WH-10 wah. Its an original mode, not a newer reissue, and its a black/purple one. You can see one on Johns board in some of the photos here: http://www.jftab.com...board-1999a.jpg[url/] Here`s mine: http://www.ebay.com/...=item45ff7d3dd5[url/] Thanks. (P.S. This is both a gear/marketplace thing so feel free Mr Moderator to move it if you wish)
  12. Ok. So I've had my DS-2 for quite a while now. When I first got it, I loved mode II. It nailed the Frusciante tone we've all learned to love. But lately I'm finding myself using mode I more and more. One thing's for sure, Chords, especially open chords sound MUCH better in mode I. Mode II sounds good for lead or single string work. This has actually got me thinking about getting that remote switch or even a second DS-2 (is that why John has more than one DS-2 on his board)? What's your preference?
