These words are in my face
It’s over now
It’s over now
This faceless son of the switch
It’s up and down
It jumps around
One time that I can’t lie
Afraid of you
And what to do
One stops before they try
Like you and I
Like you and I

One dies without a trace
It’s often now
It’s often now
These worries aren’t escapes
They lose their town
They loosen down
No one wants to be faced
With who’s inside
With what is I
Lost in the field of grace
You’re less than I
You’re less than I

We mean to scratch the surface now
Tend to be unreasonable
Good time to lie never
Never know what 'til we become

No love in the hall of the states
Just think of that
Speak to that
I was the fish to a stake
The fits you'll make
The fits you'll pay
By loosening again
Brings them on up
It's close to god
This life in the mirror of shame
Is closing down
We’re closer now
No sorrow to build the flame
We built to hell
We're not so well
He walked to his school with the shakes
We sat him down
We turned him ‘round
His light was empty space
His thought was down
His thought was down
No thoughts from the light to the shade
Have tons of fame
Weigh everyday

We mean to scratch the surface now
Tend to be unreasonable
Good time to lie never
Never know what till we become

You can’t taste someone else’s taste
That’s what we do
What we're used to
Undone with the necessary
It’s all around
It’s up to down
We rarely get confused
But when we do
We really do
I like to sing this song
It goes on and on
And on and on

We mean to scratch the surface now
Tend to be unreasonable
Good time to lie never
Never know what 'til we become

We mean to scratch the surface now
Tend to be unreasonable
Good time to lie never
Never know what 'til we become

>This is my best try after a dozen listens. Most all of it is correct, but I am not convinced about my transcription of the second half of the chorus.

For what I could hear, the basis of the song is

C5 D5 D#5

D#5 Bb5 D#5 C5,

on the chorus is

C5 G5 Bb5 F5,

and I think the last chord here it's a F#5, after that one goes back to the start.

bhit1771, I have put your translation and the one submitted by Aaron by e-mail on the song page and they will be there until the Japanese edition booklet (as these outtakes usually ends up as Japanese bonus tracks) surfaces. http://invisible-movement.net/song/scratch

The part each of you got differently is the one I'm most confused with myself.

soundcide, have you had the time to verify this? :)

Iva, I'm not sure about the last chord, but I've played the song a few times and the rest sounds right to me.

souncide- I think the turnaround chord is C#5, not F#5. Let me know what you think.

Iva-Thanks for posting my take on the lyrics. Slightly off topic, but are the lyrics that are on this site for Walls and Doors from the Japanese booklet? I always like to know the correct words.

bhit1771, I think you're right. I tried playing the C#5 with the song, and it sounds more right than the F#5

Does anyone have the Japanese release of Enclosure? If so, I would be interested in reading the correct words to Scratch. Thanks!
